|
| The Safety Rider mini hump is a unique modular calming device designed to safely slow traffic while maintaining continuous traffic flow. Molded bright reflective tape alerts drivers well in advance. Safety Rider is sold in modular units with a "tongue and groove" system, allowing any width of speed hump to be created. End caps are available to give a smooth finish to the ends of the hump. |

Step 1:
Determine the location of the traffic calming device and use chalk to mark the center lines (parallel and perpendicular to the direction of the street) and border lines on the surface.
Step 2:
Assemble and position the units, starting from the center line (parallel to the direction of the street). Figure 1 illustrates how to interlock the units. Note: Make sure the units are tight and well aligned before moving on to step 3.
Step 3:
Drill 9/16” dia. holes into the surface, through the existing holes of the placed units. The holes should be 4”-5” deep in order to accommodate the plastic shields that are 3” long. After each hole is drilled, insert a plastic shield in order to keep the units from shifting. The flange of the shield should rest on top of the installation surface (asphalt or concrete). Note: Make sure the holes are clear of dust and debris before installing the shields. (A portable blower is useful for this purpose.)
Step 4:
Bolt down each unit with the provided lag bolts and washers. Do not over tighten.

Mini Humps require minimal maintenance. Periodically inspect the bolts and tighten if necessary.

Rubber- Traffic Logix Mini Humps are made from recycled rubber tires. Rubber is lighter and easier to work with than asphalt and concrete, significantly minimizing the number of hours that need to be invested to install the solutions. Rubber pieces can be pulled up and moved without being destroyed. This is convenient for municipalities that want to institute temporary measures to test an area and is also a safety measure so that products can be stored during the winter to prevent snow plow damage. Unlike concrete and asphalt which necessitate frequent and high cost replacement, rubber products are long lasting and cost-efficient. In addition to long term benefits, rubber products offer a quick, easy way to install solutions when timing is key. |

|
|
Easy installation- Traffic Logix Mini Humps are simple to install. They are secured with anchors and bolts and can therefore be removed and relocated to an alternate street when needed. This feature is beneficial when a municipality would like to test a street or the product. Each product panel is significantly smaller than (less than half the size of) other similar units manufactured by other companies. Smaller panel size results in easier installation, less complicated removal, and more convenient storage. Panels do not require skilled labor to install, which produces greater savings for municipalities. The installation process is also designed to always allow one lane of the road to be open, thereby avoiding unnecessary street closures. |
| |
|
|
Molded Reflective Tape- Each Traffic Logix panel is embedded with highly reflective tape. This tape is a safety feature to ensure that drivers can clearly see the panel both during the daytime and at night. Traffic Logix uses this tape on its products instead of paint since paint often fades away within months and the reflective tape can last for several years. Tape is available in several color choices. Highly reflective cat's eyes can be installed on any device for further enhanced visibility. |

|
Environmentally Friendly Design- Traffic Logix Mini Humps are made from recycled rubber tires. This ensures that while products address community health and safety needs, they are also friendly to the environment. An additional benefit of the product’s green design is that it can help municipalities obtain funding for the products since many areas have a budget allocation for recycled products. |
