and Unusual Applications |
|
Countless
cities have used Traffic Logix interlocking units
to create traditional speed
humps, tables
and cushions
to slow traffic on their
streets. But the
flexibility of the
units allows for construction in any size or shape and to meet any
needs. And
at Traffic Logix, we believe in working with our cutomers to help
customize
just the solutions they need. Here are some interesting installations
recently
created with Traffic
Logix solutions:

| Phoenix Mesa Airport |
| The
Phoenix
Mesa Gateway Airport is designated as a reliever airport,
intended to limit congestion at large commercial service airports. The
airport is 3,020 acres and has an average of 769 flights per day. When
the airport needed a solution to divert jet fuel during potential
spills, they discovered Traffic Logix’ unique patented interlocking
rubber solutions. |
 |
| Traffic
Logix created a custom solution using the modular rubber
units. The 7 foot by 300 foot speed hump
was installed between where
the airplanes park and the terminal. In the event of a jet fuel leak,
the hump would divert the fuel, giving the airport additional time to
react to the spill. While there has not been a leak since the hump was
installed, a water test was conducted and the solution worked in
diverting it from the terminal area. |

| Lewes,
DE |
 |
When the city of Lewes, DE
wanted to use the Traffic Logix radar
speed sign to slow traffic, they
needed the trailer to be customized to their requirements.
While
the standard Traffic Logix radar sign has a yellow warning sign with
black lettering, the city wanted a regulatory white sign with black
lettering for use in their school zones. Traffic Logix manufactured the
radar sign with the white regulatory sign to meet Lewes’
needs.
The Traffic Logix radar
signs are now available with yellow warning signs, white
regulatory signs, and fluorescent yellow/green signs as well. |

| Enhanced
Security |
| At
military
bases and government facilities, men and women work each day to ensure
the safety and security of our country. While foriegn entry at these
locations is prevented with gated barriers, it is often necessary to
further slow potential intruders to allow security personnel extra time
to intervene. At several such locations, Traffic Logix speed tables and
humps have been used at the gates as a further impediment to intruders.
|
 |
| Some
examples
of facilities that have used Traffic Logix products as security
enhancements are the Los Alamos National Laboratory in New Mexico,
Whiteman Air Force Base in Missouri, and Sheppard Air Force Base in
Texas.

| Segway |
|
Used in over 1,000 locations
worldwide, police Segways are becoming an
increasingly popular means for officers to patrol. A Segway is more
efficient than a car or a scooter and is a zero emissions vehicle,
which allows for indoor usage as well. Many law enforcement units are
creating training programs to prepare police officers to use Segways.
Traffic Logix rubber units were purchased by Segway to construct speed
tables as a tool to train police to drive Segways. |

| University
of Delaware |
While
the
University of Delaware purchased traditional rubber
speed humps from
Traffic Logix, their application was not quite as conventional. Located
right at the mouth of the Delaware Bay, the University road is
currently one of only two routes to the Bay’s boat launch.
Boaters rushing to reach the launch presented a speeding concern to
University police, who installed several Traffic Logix rubber humps.
